And somewhere above the village, one green shutter that remained closed until the final Sunday of August.

Piazza del Lume
The village gathers here first: beneath pale façades, church bells, café umbrellas and the soft sound of the fountain. Piazza del Lume is where Cortelume begins each morning - and where every story eventually seems to return.

Casa Alta
Set slightly higher than the square, Casa Alta catches the first light before the rest of Cortelume wakes. It is quiet, sun-warmed and watchful - the kind of place where open shutters suggest that someone has just stepped away.

The Lemon Gardens
Beyond the stone path, the lemon trees grow heavy in the summer heat. The Lemon Gardens are made for slow walks, soft thinking and the kind of stillness that only arrives when no one is expecting anything from you.

Casa Livia

Forno Nica
By early morning, Forno Nica is already warm with bread, almond pastries and golden focaccia. People say they only came for one thing, but everyone leaves with a small paper bag for later.

Bottega Basso
Bottega Basso is part pantry, part village secret. Olive oil, paper-wrapped biscuits, jars of honey, small bottles, handwritten labels - everything looks as if it has been chosen slowly.

Via Pietra
Via Pietra curves through Cortelume in steps, shadows and sunlit corners. It connects almost everything, but never in a hurry. Follow it and you may find a bakery, a terrace, a view - or someone who knows more than they first admit.

Fiora & Fig
Fiora & Fig is where the village feels most generous: baskets of fruit, soft petals, herbs in terracotta pots and the scent of ripe figs in the warm air. This is the natural home of honeyed breakfasts, floral notes and recipes made because the market looked too beautiful to ignore.
