Essy's Essentials

Essy Gathering

Cortelume Paint & Pour

A printable creative gathering: four Cortelume art sheets, a named colour palette and a soft hosting guide for a slow afternoon of painting, pouring and lingering.

The Cortelume Paint & Pour cover: a golden-hour harbour table set with wine glasses, lemons and a teacup, with two of the paintable art sheets laid beside it.

Front

Cortelume Paint & Pour is a printable creative gathering from Essy’s Essentials, made for sunlit tables, easy brushstrokes and good company.

This is not a formal art class. It is an invitation to look closely at small, beautiful things - a lemon branch, a stone stairway, a harbour table, a flower-shop corner. Choose a scene, pour something chilled, play the music softly and make something without the pressure to make it perfect.

The art pack includes four Cortelume scenes in three versions each: a full-colour reference image, a guided colour-zone sheet and a clean line-art sheet. Use them exactly as you like - paint over the colour guide, trace the line art, colour with pencils, or simply use the reference as inspiration.

For

1 to 4 people

Duration

One slow afternoon

Best For

  • A solo creative afternoon
  • A small painting gathering with friends
  • A birthday table with a creative twist
  • An aperitivo that turns into painting
  • A holiday-at-home activity
  • A gift for someone who loves painting, Italy or slow afternoons

How It Works

1

Print

Print the Creative Gathering Guide once. Print the Paintable Art Pack as needed - for a group of four, print one line-art or colour-zone sheet per person.

2

Set

Put paper, paints, water jars and napkins on the table. Add lemons, flowers, linen, a drink and one small bowl of something to nibble.

3

Paint

Use the colour-zone guide as a gentle starting point or paint freely from the line art. There is no right way to finish the page.

4

Linger

Before clearing the table, place everyone’s paintings together with the little gallery labels. Take a photo, pour one last drink and enjoy what each person noticed.

Host Preparation Timeline

Three days before

  • Choose your moment: a solo afternoon, a small creative gathering, a birthday table, or an aperitivo that turns into painting.
  • Invite your guests and keep the group small - 1 to 4 people works beautifully.

One day before

  • Print the art sheets, palette and mini gallery labels.
  • Choose your table setting and pick a few simple objects for inspiration.
  • Prepare one drink and one or two easy bites.

On the day

  • Set the table before anyone arrives.
  • Place paper, brushes, water jars and napkins at each seat.
  • Start the playlist softly.
  • Remind everyone: the point is not perfection, but presence.

Table Mood

  • One linen cloth, a few glasses, a bowl of lemons and a little vase.
  • Paint brushes in a jar and something chilled to drink.
  • The art sheets laid out where people can choose them.
  • The colour palette in the centre as a shared reference.
  • A few extra napkins nearby for wet brushes, rings on glasses and happy little spills.
  • One natural object at each seat - a lemon, flower stem, olive branch, postcard or glass - to use as a detail in the painting.

What You’ll Need

  • Watercolour paper or sturdy drawing paper
  • Watercolour, gouache, acrylic paint, coloured pencils or markers
  • A few brushes - one small and one medium is enough
  • A jar of water and a napkin or cloth for blotting

Optional extras

  • Linen, simple glasses, a candle or flowers for the table
  • Lemons, flowers, a postcard, glassware or a small plate for a still life
  • A few bites: olives, bread, almonds, figs or cake

Pour & Nibble

This is not a dinner party with paint on the side - it is a creative afternoon with something lovely to sip and nibble.

To pour

  • Peach, Thyme & Sparkling Water Cooler
  • Sparkling water with lemon and herbs
  • Iced coffee
  • Cold mint tea
  • White wine or spritz, if desired

To nibble

  • Tomato Butter Crostini with Whipped Ricotta
  • Olives and almonds
  • Figs with ricotta or honey
  • Lemon cake slices
  • Bread, olive oil and good cheese

Primary playlist: Golden Hour Trainrides - a soft creative playlist for lemon light, open windows, slow brushstrokes and the feeling of a summer afternoon stretching longer than planned. For an evening version, try Windows Open, Dinner Late.

Golden Hour Train Rides

A little note from Cortelume

You made something slowly today. Not because it had to be perfect, but because it felt good to look closely, choose a colour, follow the light and let the afternoon become something you could keep. That is the whole point of Cortelume: not to hurry through the beautiful parts. - E

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a physical product?

No, this is a digital download. You’ll receive printable PDF files after purchase - the Creative Gathering Guide and the Paintable Art Pack.

Do I need to know how to paint?

Not at all. This is not a formal art class - it’s an invitation to slow down and make something without the pressure of getting it right. The guided colour-zone sheets and clean line-art sheets make it approachable at any skill level.

How many people can join?

It’s designed for 1 to 4 people - a solo afternoon works just as beautifully as a small creative gathering.

What do I need to buy separately?

Just basic art supplies: paper, paint or coloured pencils, a few brushes and a jar of water. See the full supply list inside the guide.

Can each guest paint a different scene?

Yes - there are four Cortelume art sheets (The Lemon House, The Steps to Porto Piccolo, Terrazza del Porto and Fiora & Fig), each with a full-colour reference, a guided colour-zone sheet and a clean line-art sheet, so everyone can choose their own or work through all four.

Will the colours print exactly as shown?

Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen and printer settings - use the named colour palette as a gentle guide rather than an exact match.

Can I give this as a gift?

Yes, it makes a lovely digital gift for anyone who loves painting, Italy, slow afternoons or beautiful printables.

Can I reuse or share the files?

The files are for personal use only. Please do not resell, redistribute or upload them elsewhere.

Please note: this is a digital download - no physical product will be shipped. Best printed on warm white cardstock or good quality watercolour paper. You can use watercolour, gouache, acrylic paint, coloured pencils or markers. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen and printer settings.
