Summer in Cortelume

Dear friend,

The shutters are open.

Somewhere below the hill, the baker has just lifted the first tray of almond pastries from the oven, and the whole village smells faintly of butter, lemon peel and warm stone. The linen curtains are moving softly in the morning air. On the terrace table, there is coffee waiting, a bowl of figs, and a chair pulled out as if someone knew you were coming.

Welcome to Cortelume.

This is a village for slow mornings and golden evenings. For bare feet on cool tiles, handwritten notes tucked into books, market baskets filled with peaches, and the kind of lunch that stretches quietly into the afternoon. Nothing here asks to be hurried. The streets are narrow, the windows are always half open, and if you listen closely, every corner seems to be holding onto a story.

This summer, we are staying a while.

We will follow the scent of coffee through sunlit kitchens, linger at shaded tables, and collect small rituals for warm days: a glass of something cold before dinner, a candle lit just before dusk, a recipe made because the figs were too beautiful to leave behind. There will be stories from the village, recipes from the summer table, playlists for late afternoons, and a few little mysteries tucked between the shutters.

Cortelume is not a place to visit quickly. It is a place to return to in small moments - when you want your day to feel softer, warmer, a little more golden.

So come in.

Leave your bag by the door. Open the windows. Pour the coffee.
