Renaissance hotel Aruba

I stayed here with my partner at the end of August 2022.

When looking for a holiday, I wanted to go to a more exclusive location this year. I hate being around Dutchies my entire holiday so Curacao was out. Bonaire did not provide me with good options so Aruba won.

The Renaissance hotel offers a private island, also known as Renaissance Island where the flamingos roam freely. That is such an amazing experience I would do it over and over again.

Thankfully it has an adults only section so there will be lots of peace and quiet if you are not into screaming children.

We stayed in the Oceans Suits part of the resort. There even was a Starbucks inside the hotel. Well I was hooked. From the lovely pool, to the huge breakfast area, this hotel has its stuff together.

The service is on another level. So if you love luxury travel, make sure to visit here sometime!

PS: in my Travel highlight on Insta more on this hotel!

Hotel Maison Montgrand Vieux Port Marseille

I stayed here with a friend in June 2022.

Located in the heart of the historic city center of Marseille, near Vieux Port and the most important tourist attraction. Maison Montgrand is a unique boutique hotel, combining chic southern France design and modern comfort in five buildings, a throw of stone from each other. The main house, located in a private mansion includes a restaurant, a bar, a tea room and a concept store with a Mediterranean twist.

We stayed in the building across the street, easily accessible.

We had the tiniest room I have ever stayed in but no complaints here. The room was tiny but it had most of the things we needed. The most important thing was airco, it is hot in Marseille in the Summer so thankfully that worked like a charm. Weirdly enough the room did not have a fridge, we did miss that but the water in France is clean and you can drink from the faucet.

The only thing which stood out was that the beds squeak enormously. So every time you turn ( I am a huge twist and turn till I fall a sleep kind of person) , the bed makes a loud sound which makes me laugh so hard.

The view was over the cityscapes, I loved that. The personnel are lovely and very helpful.

Having breakfast in the city garden was a great way to start our days, please have a look at my Insta’s highlight ‘Travel’ to see more of Marseille and this hotel.

I would certainly recommend this hotel for a city trip!

Apartment Tauernflair Kaprun

We went here for a week at the end of May 2022. It was my first trip to this part of Austria, and I am in love.

But let me tell you about the apartment. There are many times in my life that I am excited, I am a glass half full type of person. But believe me when I say that no one can be unhappy in an accommodation like Tauernflair. Not only is the hostess Ulrike the sweetest person, but the apartment itself is stunning.

With wood paneling across the whole room, top to bottom, the amazing views and the overall look and feel here, you can not have a bad holiday.

I am not going to point out the amazing shower, top location or lovely bed. Go and find out for yourself.

I do have one thing to point out is that there is no airco, and it was hot! Located on the base of the mountains you would not think it would get this hot inside but it really did. Bring coffee and towels from home and you will be good to go.

In my Travel highlights on my Insta you will find more photo’s and little clips of the apartment and surroundings.

Everyone who is considering going to Kaprun/ Zell am See, book this accommodation, you will not be sorry!!

Hotel Europe, Munich, Germany

We visited this 4* hotel in May of 2022 on our way to Austria. I really wanted to explore Munich, so we chose a hotel that was convenient mostly.

I most say upon checking in the staff was helpful and nice, the room was very spacious and that about sums up the best parts for me.

No fridge, the restaurant was closed, it was not that clean and it was kind of soulless. I do not know how else to describe this. It just was not what I hoped. Even though the breakfast was amazing, choices galore, great croissants, good coffee… There was just something that left me feeling disappointed.

Not with Munich though, gosh what an amazing city!

London: Yotel

Not only do I think London is one of the most exciting places to visit in Europe, the sheer number of accommodations is an job to work through as well.

After a lot of weighing our options, we decided to visit Yotel London City in Clerkenwell. We visited this chain in New York for the first time and loved the concept so much, we were curious te see how this played out in the UK.

Luckily for us, this was a great choice. Not only is this an innovative hotel( love all the super-smart rooms) but also the service is impeccable.

The location is amazing with the tube nearby and the sites you’ll want to visit within 15 minutes away.

We stayed in the Premium Queen room which fits 2 perfectly. We loved the adjustable bed, and all the essentials are there for you to enjoy.

As you can imagine, breakfast is important to me, and in this area they did not let me down. Fresh croissants galore! I also got to take one on the go, no questions asked (little did they know I made some cute content with it, did you find it yet here on my site?) there is an option for everyone, and they keep it stocked throughout the whole breakfast time.

I would love to go back here next time we visit London.

De Smulpot, Texel, The Netherlands

We visited ‘de Smulpot’, in April. After searching the whole Island for cool accommodations, this was the one that spoke to us the most. It is a small boutique style hotel and restaurant. The level of service is just uncanny. My personal opinion of the service level I experienced in my own country, I often find it kind of lacking. But this is definitely not the case here. We were welcomed with open arms. Someone even walked us up the stairs to our room. And what an amazing room at that. I loved the boutique style, and the little personal touches: a note in our room, a great coffee maker, and chocolates on our pillows.

The first night we even had dinner here, and I must say, the waiter was so amazing, I have told so many of the people I know to visit here, just to enjoy the service level here. The quality of the food was outstanding, but it truly was the waiter what made our evening an success.

The next morning it was time for my favorite meal, well let me tell you…this did not disappoint.

An enormous spread of freshly baked breads, yoghurts and eggs…but let’s not forget…the croissants were amazing, flaky and fresh just how I love them. All products are locally sourced, which is always a plus in my book.

I could go on for hours about this breakfast, but just check my Insta Highlights Travel section, and you can see for yourself.

I would love to visit here again if we go back to this island.
