A little guide to the winter world

The Hollowpine Index

Stories, recipes, rituals, rooms, music and small escapes from a winter village inspired by Vienna.

A snow-dusted pine forest town at dusk with warm light glowing from small cottage windows.

Hollowpine is not a place you have to rush through. This is the index for finding your way around: begin with a story, follow a recipe into the kitchen, listen from the reading room, or choose a small winter ritual for the evening in front of you.

Everything here belongs to the same world. Some things are fictional - Marta’s Pension Linden, Otto’s favourite chair and the table for six. Some things are made for your own home. Real-world travel ideas are labelled clearly when the road leaves the village.

Start with the stories

Meet The Winter Table in reading order, beginning with the glass room behind Marta’s kitchen.

You can start anywhere

There is no correct order after the first story. Follow the recipe, the music, the map or the mood that feels most like tonight. Hollowpine itself is fictional; real destinations such as Vienna and Baden bei Wien in Travel & Tiny Escapes are genuine places, kept clearly separate from the village and never represented as locations within it.
