Travel - by plane especially - tends to leave skin dehydrated, hair dulled, and the whole body slightly out of rhythm. A short recovery ritual on arrival, or the following morning, restores comfort quickly.
This is not an elaborate routine. It is a small, deliberate reset.
Cleanse Thoroughly
Remove makeup, sunscreen and travel grime completely before any other step - a double cleanse is often worthwhile after a long journey.
Rehydrate Skin Generously
Use a hydrating mask, a richer moisturiser than usual, or an extra layer of serum. Skin affected by cabin air typically needs more moisture than it does at home.
Restore Hair
A hydrating mask or oil treatment addresses the dryness and static that often follow air travel, particularly on longer journeys.
Reset the Body
A warm shower or bath, gentle stretching, and water rather than caffeine help the body settle after hours of travel.
Realign Daily Rhythm
Where time zones have shifted, use daylight, meal timing and a normal bedtime routine to help the body recalibrate over the following day or two.
The Checklist
- Full cleanse completed
- Skin rehydrated generously
- Hair treatment applied
- Body rested and hydrated
- Daily rhythm being restored
Pair It With
A good recovery ritual does not erase the signs of travel instantly.
It simply gives skin, hair and body what they need to settle back into rhythm.
