The Still-Light Walk
A short spring walk between finishing work and beginning the evening.
Set at The Willow Path

- Choose the turning point
- Notice one change
- Return with an evening left
When work is finished and there is still daylight, take the short route you know well: to the corner, around the block or through the nearby park. Choose somewhere that suits the weather and your own circumstances. The walk can begin at your front door; it doesn't need a drive to somewhere more scenic.
What You’ll Need
- suitable shoes
- a layer if needed
- a familiar route
Choose the turning point
Decide roughly how far you want to go. A bench, a junction or the end of the street gives the walk a simple shape. Turn earlier if that feels right.
Notice one change
Look for something that was different a few weeks ago. New leaves. Someone sitting outside. Light on a wall that was dark when you came home in winter.
You don't need to record it. Walk at a pace that leaves you comfortable, with your surroundings in view.
Return with an evening left
Come back while the walk still feels like a pleasant addition to the day. Put your shoes away, decide what you want to eat and let the rest of the evening take its own shape.

If going out doesn't suit today: spend a few minutes by a bright window or another comfortable place at home. Keep the route for a day when you want it.
Nora and Liv take the riverside version in Still Light at Seven. Find their path on the Willowmere village page.
