THE EARLY-AUTUMN EDIT
Wardrobe & Beauty
Wear the season gently.
Small shifts in colour, texture, scent and care for the weeks when summer is still here, but autumn has begun to whisper.
You do not need a new wardrobe. You only need a softer transition.

The first wardrobe shift of the season is rarely a dramatic one.
It is a cardigan carried rather than worn, loafers replacing sandals on a workday, a deeper lip colour, a richer hand cream and a scarf placed in the bag just in case. The season enters gently - through choices that still belong to real weather and ordinary days.
The One Piece Rule
Do not change everything at once. Add one element only when the weather or moment asks for it. The edit should feel discovered, not performed.
- Loafers - Replace sandals for a cooler commute or a workday that stays on your feet.
- Cardigan - Carried before it is worn - over the shoulders, or folded into the bag.
- Trench - Left in the car or over the arm, ready for the first genuinely cool evening.
- Scarf - A light layer that reads as intentional rather than cautious.
- Darker bag - The one seasonal swap that quietly changes an entire outfit.
A small rule I keep
I only ever let myself add one new thing at a time. The rest can wait for the weather to actually ask for it.
The Colour Shift
Move gradually from sun-washed neutrals into warmer, deeper tones. Keep the lightness of summer and introduce autumn through one accent at a time.
- Summer Linen #F3EDE2The starting point - keep this as your base for as long as the weather allows.
- Warm Oat #E3D5BEA soft, warmer neutral to replace bright white.
- Soft Camel #C9A87CThe first real seasonal accent - a bag, a knit or a pair of trousers.
- Olive Leaf #767454Adds depth without asking for a full colour change.
- Chocolate #6B4A38A deeper accent for one item at a time - not the whole outfit.
- Cocoa Ink #3E302BReserved for the darkest single detail: a bag, boots or outerwear.
- Soft Brass #B79257Jewellery and small hardware only - never a background colour.
The Fabric Shift
Linen does not disappear when August ends. Pair it with denim, a fine knit, suede or leather. The most convincing transitional outfits belong to both seasons at once.
Linen
Still warm-weather-appropriate
Pair with a fine knit or leather bag to carry it into cooler days.
Steam rather than iron heavily - linen is meant to look a little relaxed.
Cotton
Warm to mild
Layer under a cardigan or trench for a cooler morning.
Wash on a gentle cycle to keep colour and shape through the transition.
Denim
Mild, all-day reliable
The bridge fabric - works with sandals still, and with loafers already.
Wash less often and inside out to keep colour from fading too quickly.
Fine knit
Mild to cool
Worn open over linen or cotton, not yet as a standalone layer.
Fold rather than hang, to keep its shape through the season.
Suede
Cool evenings
Shoes or a bag - one suede piece is enough to signal the season.
Keep away from rain until it has been properly protected.
Leather
Cool, all-day reliable
A bag or belt is enough - full leather outerwear can wait for real autumn.
Condition lightly before the season’s heavier use begins.
Still linen season
My linen doesn’t go in the back of the wardrobe until it truly stops making sense - it just learns to share a rail with the knits.

The Bag Between Seasons
One bag, prepared for a season that changes its mind several times a day: sunglasses and an umbrella, both packed without irony.
- Sunglasses - The sun is still strong most afternoons.
- Compact umbrella - The first rain tends to arrive without much warning.
- Cardigan - For the moment the temperature drops faster than expected.
- Hand cream (optional) - A small, repeated ritual rather than an emergency fix.
- Book (optional) - For the coffee that turns into twenty unplanned minutes.
- Coffee-to-go (optional) - Not always carried, but always welcome.
Shoes & Accessories
- Sandals
- Sneakers
- Loafers
- Boots
Move through this order as the weather asks, not all at once. Let jewellery shift subtly alongside it - warmer metals, slightly more weight, still restrained.
Beauty Notes
Early-autumn beauty is not heavier beauty. It is a subtle change in temperature: dusty rose becomes cinnamon nude, sheer nails become warm taupe, bright fragrance becomes tea, fig, iris or soft wood.
Lips
- Dusty rose
- Cinnamon nude
- Muted mauve
- Soft berry for later in the season
Nails
- Sheer nude
- Warm beige
- Taupe
- Deep berry only when the season truly turns
Eyes
- Taupe wash
- Soft brown liner
- Champagne highlight
- Bronze used lightly
Blush
- Warm rose
- Muted apricot
- Soft neutral flush
Hair
- Gloss and care
- Loose waves
- Low bun
- A small amount of hair oil
Hands
- Hand cream after coffee
- Hand cream in the car
- Hand cream before reading
- Hand cream beside the bed
The shade I reach for first
Cinnamon nude, every time. It is the smallest possible change, and somehow it is the one that makes the whole face feel like autumn.

From The Tiny Luxuries Collection
Wear the cardigan before it is necessary
Drape it over the shoulders or keep it in the bag for later.
Choose one deeper colour
Add cocoa, olive, fig, burgundy or dusk blue to today's outfit.
Put a scarf in the bag
A light scarf is both practical and a seasonal detail.
Polish the loafers
Care for one pair instead of shopping for new seasonal shoes.
Hang the trench by the door
Bring one transitional layer into daily reach.
Wear perfume at home
Use one light spray because the evening itself is enough of an occasion.
Scent the scarf, not the room
Apply fragrance lightly and safely so it stays close to you.
Use the hand cream you save
The better moment is the one you are already living.
Switch one scent note
Move from citrus toward tea, fig, musk or light woods.
Choose one deeper lip colour
Berry nude, brown rose or soft fig can change an otherwise summery look.
Build Your Look
One achievable combination for the moment you choose.
- Linen blouse, straight jeans, loafers, structured bag, sunglasses.
- Drink: Iced Maple Chai
- Playlist: Autumn on the Road
- Scent: Bergamot, pear, clean musk.
Things Not to Buy
The feeling of a new season does not require a new identity. Use what you own, prepare what is useful, repair what deserves another year and add only what solves a real need.
A complete new wardrobe
One well-chosen piece, added when the weather truly asks for it.
Ten new knits
One fine knit, worn open over what you already have.
A full new makeup collection
One deeper lip colour and one warmer nail shade.
Five new perfumes
One scent note, shifted gradually - see The Scent Transition.
Closing
Wear the season gently. Keep summer where it still feels right, and allow autumn to arrive through the smallest details.
